A practical guide for manufacturers

What a future zone resident receives

The proposition combines port logistics, the Suez Canal Economic Zone regime and a coordinated project journey.

Market access

Subject to applicable local-content rules, products may qualify for Made in Egypt status and preferential access under Egypt’s trade agreements.

SCZONE describes access to markets in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia, as well as Egypt’s domestic market. Actual treatment depends on product origin, certification and the relevant agreement.

02

Investment incentives

SCZONE materials describe zero customs duty on imported materials and equipment required for project construction and operation, and zero VAT within the zone for manufacturing inputs.

The investment incentive may be granted as a deduction from net taxable profit of 50% of investment costs — within legal limits and for up to seven years. A three-year rent grace period has also been reported for the zone.

  • Production equipment and material imports
  • Raw materials and components within SCZONE
  • Investment deduction subject to law
  • Potential infrastructure and workforce support
03

One route instead of many interfaces

The Crystal Fund acts as a single window for prospective investors, developers and residents. A company can begin with its product, space, utility and market requirements.

The initial assessment can then develop into a location scenario covering the site, building, utilities, logistics, local content and launch sequence.

04

What to prepare

A basic production model is enough to start. Clearer inputs make it easier to identify a viable location scenario.

  • Product and expected output
  • Required area and building specification
  • Power, gas, water and special utilities
  • Imported equipment and inputs
  • Target markets and desired local content
  • Target launch date

For each resident, the project team calculates an individual model of location and available support measures.
