About the project

A manufacturing route from Russia to the Suez Canal

The Russian Industrial Zone in Egypt is being created as a site for localising Russian manufacturing in the Suez Canal Economic Zone — close to port infrastructure and the markets of Egypt, Africa and the Middle East.

01

Project framework

Russia and Egypt signed the intergovernmental agreement establishing the industrial zone in 2018. In May 2025, SCZONE and the Russian project company fixed the commercial terms for long-term use of the site.

Design and construction are planned for 2026–2029.

02

A site on a global route

The zone's 50-hectare site is located in the north-eastern part of the Suez Canal Economic Zone and is connected to the port of Ain Sokhna. This location combines an industrial site, maritime logistics and access to Egypt's domestic market.

SCZONE includes four industrial zones and six seaports and positions the territory as a hub between Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

03

A single window through the Fund

In 2026, The Crystal Fund was presented to the Egyptian side as the integrated development institution for the Russian Industrial Zone in Egypt. An agreement with the Ministry of Industry and Trade established the Fund as the single window for investors, developers and future residents.

The aim is to connect initial project assessment, location planning, stakeholder coordination and launch support into one clear route.
